My 720 sometimes boots to garbage and does not stay on game for long.

Questions about the PS?
Current PS is an Electron model
Has +5v15A 1 port and 2 com ports that all the game wires are plugged into
Also has 2 AC ports 1 says L and 1 says N I believe

Nerdygrl sent me a replacement PS that is not the same.
Has +5v12A and no addition ports that say COM
Also it has 2 AC ports but they are not labeled.
The replacement PS is not as highly rated and is lower power than the Electron currently in the game.

Would the lower rating +5v12a be able to take all 5 wires into the one screw. Because the current one has 2 in the +5v15a, 2 in first com port and 1 in the other. Dont want to screw up the board.

Also I picked up an Atari System 1 cabinet yesterday that runs. Just has some control issues. Would the PS off the Atari System 1 (roadblasters) be compatible with Atari System 2 (720)

This is the original one in the cabinet

+5V15A on old PS -> +5V12A on new
COM on old PS -> GND on new (com=common=ground=gnd)
(both com terminal on the old, and both gnd terminals on the new, are interchangable, as they're internally connected)
Don't worry about which AC wire is which (neutral & line), the new PS doesn't differentiate.
12A on the 5V line should be plenty to run a 720. I doubt the PCB dissipates 60W.

So put the 3 wires plugged into COM on old one into GND on new one?

And your sure the 12a vs 15a wont make a difference?

Yes. Any wire connected to either COM terminal on the old one can be connected to either GND terminal on the new one.

99% certain it'll provide all the current you need for that game.

That's just the maximum rated current capacity of the PS. If the game only pulls 6A or so, it won't matter if it's got a 15A or 12A rated supply.

Should not make any difference.

That board won't draw anything near 12A of current.
