Ok, getting frustrated and figured I'd ask for help. I have a generic jamma cabinet, one of those quick plug and play cheaply built red ones (can't remember the name), and I went to hook up a power supply to test a board.

On the 115v in on the power supply I'm getting 160v-165v. I thought maybe the line filter in the cabinet went bad. Put the same power supply in my MK restoration cab and get the same thing.

Tested a couple outlets in the house and they're all reading 157v. Went back to the mk cabinet and unplugged a molex connector going between power supply and iso transformer and it now reads 176v!

Then I was like WTF?!? Now I'm here. Don't know if it's the iso transformer or my electricity in my house. I don't see two cabinets having the same problem unless its my electricity. Any help is appreciated.

So upon further inspection, my low battery indicator on my meter was on. Soooo...I grabbed another meter (one with a good battery) and retested everything. I now get 125v from the outlet and 134v inside the cabinet. That's testing the power supply in, from the iso to the power supply, and the molex for the monitor. All points test the same voltage, 134v.

Any ideas?

Still trying to figure out what you're trying to do. Are you trying to test a board and nothing is showing on screen? Have you tested the DC voltage at the board?

No, I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting 134v going into the power supply instead of 115v. I mean is the 134v normal or is it gonna fry something. I Know this sounds like a newb thing, and I am far from a newb, but I just don't remember ever having that voltage in a cabinet. Maybe I'm just tired or losing my mind or both....possibly paranoia setting in. Lol
