Im new to the forum so please be nice lol. anyways i was working on my simpsons 4player cabinet. Well everything was running fine until i was trying to hook up the on and off switch that the guy before had cut it and when i flipped it a big pop then it powered down i unhooked the wires and still no power could it be a fuze and if so where is the fuse at and which one and what kind
Thanks For All Your Help

It sounds like you hooked up the power wrong. usually when this happens, someone takes both power wires, connects them both to the switch, then gets a pop or something when they flip the switch. That is because you just connected both power wires together through the switch.

If you're lucky, you just blew a fuse in the bottom of the machine - or popped the circuit breaker in the house. Might have blown the switch, the cord, or something else, too.

What you are SUPPOSED to do is take ONE of the power wires coming in, cut that wire (with it unplugged), and then wire each side of the cut to the power switch. The other power wire should go to the rest of the cabinet in the normal manner....

hey thanks for the quick reply ill change the fuse when i get a chance first to see if that was it thanks again

Check your wiring is correct as I mentioned above, or you'll just blow it again...

oh im just going to leave it the way it was and also what fuse would it take thanks

I dunno? 3amp? 5amp? Find it, then if it's blown, read the value on the end...

Hey thanks for all your help i pulled all four fuse and they say 5a 250v and one is missing the wire going thru but im just going to replace them all. Hopley that was just it.

sounds like it was the fuse then..

but wiring the switch is easy as Mod outlined above..

or I guess you could buy the clapper and turn it on that way....
