Is there anything sweeter? Yeah I suppose there is, but these rank high on the list. I picked up a large box of powder coated parts today on my way to work. 2 control panels, 2 over/under doors/frames (6 total pieces), 1 older Midway door with/metal slug insert, 1 full Nintendo coin door, 1 set of CC return and reject bezels and the lower marquee bracket from a Nintendo cab. Total cost?

$103, no cents for blasting and coating. Stripping and painting all of these would have taken me weeks and not looked as good. I can finally finish up and (in some cases start) some of these lagging arcade restorations.

Wow. A Phet thread without pics. This sucks.

Funny, usually I get blasted for posting pics. Apparently, when not trolling for rich old men, the smart and creative folks around here like to close their eyes, open their mouths and use their wonderful imaginations. Why don't you follow their example.

Let's get one thing straight- I never blast you for posting pics... Besides, when I close my eyes all I can picture is Fritz and the Gimp playing Tummy Sticks. It's horrible.

Sounds yummy. I hope you're picturing the gimp wearing his shiny yellow vinyl gimp suit with the optional back door and mouth zippers, otherwise you're wasting your imagination on hum drum hump dreams.

That's got to be my problem... I had him in the flocked, red one with the leather over-thong.

I'm Imagining so hard right now!

i really do enjoy seeing the arcade related images tho that you share phet.

I've never had anything powdercoated, but it's on the list for my Ms Pac resto. I tore the coin door apart last weekend and now I just gotta check out a few local places and their prices.

couldn't find anyone in my area to do it for that cheap....cheapest i found was $100 for just the powdercoat with no blasting...sux.

I have had all the metal parts powder coated on my pac man cocktail restoration. (And I have pics!) Most recently I got the coin door, the little feed slot that attaches to the outside of the coin door, and all of the vents blasted and painted for $25. If you choose a popular color (some kind of semi gloss black) and piggy back with some other larger jobs, it really helps the price.

Here's pics a few of the larger pieces:

A dent-fucked Nintendo door that was pounded back into shape before blasting (there are still a few minor imperfections, but the discoloration is just from fingerprints):

If you guys are ever in the Detroit area, my buddy Kyle owns a powdercoating business in Canton called Dynasty Powdercoating. He just joined on here recently under the username thelastpolarbear. I would give him a shout and see what price he would come in at as well.
