I managed to top 4,000 last night on Armor Attack. I hit 4,020. I have no idea if this is a respectable score or not. While doing so I finally realized that you get a free jeep every 5th or 6th chopper you down.

Great game BTW...

It is a great game. Wish I had one so I could try to beat your score.

Hey Frizz,

Have you installed the Armor Attack high score save kit? Just kidding ...... it would be awesome to have that!

I think my high score was around 4K also -- things start to go REAL fast. I'll have to play a little bit and see what I can do.

I remember looking at the record score for this game on arcade at Twin Galaxies some time ago, It was well over a million from memory.

I remember because the top score in MAME was less then 5000

So either there isn't much love for this game with the MAME'ers, or the old score at TG is BS??

Does anyone make high score save and free play kits for any of the Cinematronic games?

You DO see my "High Score Save Kit" above my two Cinematrionics games... right? Good... that's about the best you're going to do unfortunately.

;)

I dunno... some people can get crazy scores from otherwise ass kicking games (for you and I). Perfect example is Star Castle. You see my best above (I think I'm up to around 18K now)... yet some people can play that game forever. Bottom line is that I have "barely average" gaming skills... which is good for me. Why? I can go out and play a game or two while on my lunch... try doing that if you can play a game for hours...

:D

Fun fact: the Morse Code at the beginning of Armor Attack says: Don't join the Navy!

It's the very first game I ever bought, working and in pretty good shape for $35 bucks (yes, thirty-five-bucks).

Great game, and started me in this awesome hobby.

That's a great High Score Save Kit. ;) What is that, just a small chalkboard and a small printout of the Marquee?

I'll have to do something like that.

It would be awesome for someone to come out with a save kit for the Cinematronics games ......

$3.99 14" x 6" dry erase board (from walmart)... there are multiple colors available... I attached a couple hooks and chain and hung the signs right between the 4 games that I have that don't have high score saves... I wanted something a little "custom" I guess so I printed out the marquees and glued them to the whiteboard... cheesy but effective.

Armor Attack / Star Castle (as seen above)

and

Gorf / Wizard of Wor

Yup, here's my Cinematronics Rip Off free play kit. $100 each with free domestic shipping. Steep discount given on large quantity purchases. ;-)

I think the roms were changed but there was a version you could shoot a tank on later levels and just leave his turret and hunt choppers endlessly. A friend and myself could last for hours until we basically wanted to quit.

Actually it says Don't register:

"Programmer Tim Skelly states the Morse code sounds actually spell out "DONT REGISTER". This was in reference to the U.S. Government's ploy on army conscription at this time in history (1980), forcing every male of age to register, even though there was no draft."
