What are your guys strategies for surviving pots/bottles? both hands up...both hands down...one up one down? Dodge like a mofo? Can the dreaded double pot or bottle be survived if it hits you?

Forgot about the score from last year's tournament...I was thinking I had about 250K, but must not have (not with 3 or 4 men to start anyway. I might have on my MAME cab using 6 for practice). Looks like your score range was spot on

Damn...after getting bumped from 3rd to 4th...I dragged my sick self (severe cold) to the garage and tried to reclaim my spot.. Couldn't do it, but almost improved my score...Fell short at 142,250... However the day is still young and I'm feeling abit better. I'm now convinced its better to have one hand up and one down when getting rained on by pots and bottles.

If you could, you'd be able to keep getting free games as long as you made the high score list...there's an easter egg in CC that gives you 2 credits if you enter "JORDAN.LTD" as your initials Only works on the Japanese style ROMsets (both Japanese and bootlegs) though, since those allow 10 initials.

Thanks pookdolie, score list updated! 90k is a respectable outting...it edges out a certain someone who doesn't wish to post his score until he reaches the 100k club. Red Commander, you know who you are!

Keep climbing Pook, you scores will improve. Was barely scratching 80k last week...kept at it for a few days and now have my short term goal set at 200k!

btw very nice mini row.. Love how the light marquee is in the middle..I was unaware they lit up like that. Awesome!

Wow...That'd have been super cool to know of back in the day.. I could see someone playing a good part of the day with just a quarter or 2 if they were skilled enough

Hmm...dunno if its the egg is on the japanese version though. I've got a nichibitsu cocktail and a friend has a nichibitsu deluxe upright and I think we both can only enter 3 initials.. I have to confirm though. I had a US Taito upright awhile back and the sounds were different which has me thinking we have the japanese version... unless there are "true" japanese nichibitsu japanese cabs other than the ones we've got.

Thanks. I've had the game for a while now and I also have a Taito orange/white UR CC. I just loaned it to the show for the weekend. I love this game. Great idea to post this thread!

A couple tips I have to offer:

You can take a flower pot or bottle hit with both arms locked in any position (up-up, down-down, up-down, down-up. Just keep the joysticks locked in position and your hands will go right back up so you can take the next hit if there's one coming. Sometimes the flower pots/bottles group up and if you get hit by two that are on top of each other, you're done. Go slow when they're raining down like the beginning of the 2nd building when it narrows down to two windows wide and you will usually be ok.

This one is just an observation that I haven't quite got figured out 100%: You can usually take a girder hit when you don't have a choice to move if you have both arms down and your body up. When you get your climber in this position, let go of the joysticks and make sure you are there for at least a couple of seconds when the hit comes. If anyone has this more 'figured out' than I do, please post.
