And if you have a good pic, please include whether it is an original or a repro. Also, if you have the serial number on your machine, post that. (I'll have to check mine, as I didn't list it in VAPS for some reason?) I am trying to see if I can notice any differences in the different factory revs and repros. As I understand it, there were a few different revisions with different colors and other minute differences over the years. AFAIK, Tempest CPOs are pretty much sold out everywhere. Mine is original and WAS in very nice shape, but I splattered paint and then spilled chemicals all over it in an unfortunate accident that I really wanna forget about. I happened to get lucky and pick up a NOS CPO to replace it a while back. The problem? I don't wanna apply a NOS CPO to this machine if I don't have to. Would much rather keep this CPO stored for now and apply a repro. Make sense? Wonder if my revision is worth reproing? I assume Scott Evans still has the films for these otherwise? Here's my original, before the accident:

I'll post a pic of the NOS art I picked up tonight if I can find it in time. Thanks Tempest owners.

Anything specific on the overlay you want to see? I could take a pic tonight of mine.

Just an in-focus and well-lighted close-up of the entire overlay would be nice. No cell phone pics, or blurry pics, or even blurry cell phone pics. If the flash washes it out, try it again without flash. I mean, I know not everyone on here is a professional photographer, but if you are still using a Polaroid, or a film camera, or your flash bulb is fueled by gunpowder, perhaps it's time for an upgrade. Lately, even a lot of the pics in the restoration section look like they were taken by Stevie Wonder.

Oh, and BTB, an apology following a bad pic doesn't make it look any better.

So, I was going to use a 110 film camera, then use a b&w handheld scanner with a shaky hand, so lots of seams. Instead, I will use a digital camera.

Awesome. Now I need to get back to the farm. It's a 3 day ride from town and my horse is already tired.

I don't have any pics of mine right now. I will try to get some. It needs to be replaced.

There have been comments in the past made in regards to the films being gathered by Scott Evans and handed off to Rich so he can make a run of accurate CPO's and marquee's. Haven't heard much lately.

I have an all original machine with original CPO plus a new repro from arcadeshop that has not been used.

I will post some comparative pics asap.

Here is a pic of my 2 CPO's.

The top one came off of serial number 21239 and the CPO has Rev. D printed on it. The bottom one is on my Tempest cab, serial number 09972, and is listed as Rev. C.

I can't find any difference myself. There may be a difference in the text, but I didn't look that close.

Here are some pics of ArcRevival's Tempest. I can't find a serial number, but I think it is pretty low. The CPO is quite a bit different. I am guessing Rev. A.

I thought the repro CPOs available in the past were okay, but the repro marquee overlays were horrible.

Especially in the "brain" area on the upper left hand corner, the detail was all muddy without the original detail.

That is what I remember hearing as well, but if we can get Rich to run them both with the original films, I believe that would be the best case scenario.

Well, I got a NOS Marquee overlay in the deal as well. I had to take both, which I did. I'll post a pic of that as well.

I'll post the two I have. First is the Irish cab (despite the Sunnyvale, CA serial number sticker. They didn't go about 24000 or so in the US). The second is the American cab. Serial number for the 1st precedes the two, and the serial number for the 2nd comes after the two. I'll also have a post or two after showing some other differences (due to the 5 pic limit)...

Notice that the wording at the bottom is the same but setup differently at the very bottom to make it farther from the lower art:

Wow, blue tunnel lines instead of the pink/purple. Sweet.

I, too, have an extra CP with an overlay with this different style...many of the colors are essentially reversed from the more common version, and also note that under the start buttons, the numbers "1" and "2" are printed rather than the stick figures in the other version.

Always wondered what the story was with this overlay...I guess it was just an early version. Still cool to own one :D .
