Can't wait to watch these vids.

The last time I was there - over 10 years ago - they had like 8 Galaxians. I'd imagined that they thought it'd be a super-hot game when it debuted, and so they'd bought a bunch of them...

Nice Brian! I visited the boardwalk a couple of months ago.

Did you try the fried PB&J or chocolate-covered bacon? Delicious. :D

OMG... Did you have Blackdog record that for you... I think I'm gonna be queasy for the rest of the day...

Too bad most have terrible, loose joysticks and the coin mechs only work 50% of the time if that. You have to go get an attended every few minutes to give you your credit and they look at you like you are pulling a scam. The Star Wars yoke is so wonky I walked away from it in the middle of a game.
They have a decent selection but if they play like crap it isn't much fun. Also go look at their Simpsons pinball party. It is in terrible shape and barely plays...

Boardwalk's Robotron

Their dedicated Robotron has the wrong sound rom installed in it and the game just sounds plain wierd. They just threw in some random Williams sound board for a repair.

Sweet video. Family vacation for two days starting Tuesday and I'm hoping to get some games in - probably more than CAX!

Make sure you hit up Kianti's in downtown Santa Cruz if heading to the boardwalk for a solid calzone and a quiet spot away from the crowds of the waterfront.

Ya, let's all boycott the classics at Santa Cruz. Maybe they will yank them out of there and put more redemption games in...

Dude, seriously. The fact that they even have a classics corner is a-fucking-mazing.

Honestly, I'd rather have a classic corner with some issues than no classic corner at all. If anyone can tell us Bay Area guys of a better place to find a classic arcade around other than personal collections, let us know. :)

Totally... We all know it's a crap shoot these days on classics in the wild in a venue like this. For me the experience was a positive one... this time;)

I hate the lighting in that section (it used to be in a darker corner), but hey, there it is.

Nice to see Qbert working again. Some time ago it had jammed coin mechs, a stuck 1P button, and glitchy graphics, all of which were fixed. But last week it was unplugged and I feared the worst.

I can report that (believe it or not), they DO maintain the machines. Only enough to keep them bare-minimum playable, and never cosmetically, but they do it. (That is to say, Donkey Kong won't be getting the cap kit it's begging for anytime soon, but at least the controls work.)

Yeah, way too bright... But all I really played was BZ, so the lighting and glare were not as much an issue for gameplay as it might be on other games...

And for the record; Sea Wolf was out-of-order as well
