Damn-
Somebody clued me in to a story in the newspaper that the big warehouse where a bunch of my games are stored may be sold soon to some company that wants to build student condos.
Nothing settled, but it could be by the end of the year or next Spring.
It really sucks because it's cheap storage. I've got maybe 15-20 games there and bunches of boxes of crap. Without this place, I would be limited to my garage which holds 15 or so and couldn't really get more that another 2 in there.
Chip and I share the storage and he's bailing in the near future to haul all of his stuff to his new house and basement. Too bad that's a hundred miles from me.
This really bummed me out all weekend. I don't have a lot of gems- just have fun playing them mainly. So, it's not 'storage' in the usual sense, but a place where I can work on them and have them set up to play and even have friends drop by. Kind of a man-cave of sorts.
So, it's not worth paying hundreds of dollars a month to keep them somewhere. One good thing about the storage place is that it gave me a place to get away to. I could build a small building in my backyard, but it wouldn't be the same as an 'escape'. The current storage place is about 10 minutes from my house, so not too far, not too close.
I could probably dump half my stuff and find some other place to store the rest, but it sucks thinking about them being 'stored' and not easily playable.
The end of an era, I guess.
sigh.
