I have a chance to buy a Star Wars cockpit machine from my boss at work for 500.00 . The unit does not power up and is in decent condition . I know this is a sought after machine but i'm scared to pull the trigger on the purchase . How much work could this actually need ?

I will give you $500 plus a $200 finders fee:cool:

Where are you located at? I'm sure you could get some help from other forum members here.

At $500 you would be absolutely crazy to pass on that!! That's a huge grail game for a lot of guys here and no one would ever pass on a smoking deal on one! (errr, I have no comment on that statement..) As long as everything is there, monitor, boards, etc., and the cockpit is solid with good art, YOU CAN NOT LOSE on this one. I'll give you $800 sight unseen, lol, so go get it!

Ditto...do it no questions asked. Even under the worst of circumstances, if it was working at one time and still has all of the parts, you'll be able to get it repaired and still make out like a bandit. People here can help.

Hmmm

That sounds like a good deal if it doesn't have any major issues...

If is has the original 25" Monitor in it that would be an awesome find and deal at 500.00

Is this gonna be like that other thread, where you guys all get this guy excited, and then he can't sell it, and he threatens to burn down his house to teach us a lesson?

That's how much they go for, it's an investment

I just sold a chunker Star Wars for $300.00.

No monitor or boards, or arches over the top, it had the cabinet, coin door and glass, and seat.

My wife was amazed, she thought I should dump it down the tip.

Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like everyone else here has said. Don't question yourself, just buy it.

Hurry before your Boss finds this Forum and charges you more for it...:D

I asked about the same question about a Tempest a few weeks back and got promptly scolded for not having it before posting here..lol.... :)

They were right;)

my boss just wants his garage space back .He is not into this kind of stuff . He told me he bought it off an atari employee years ago , also that it's never been in an arcade. That part is awesome . It also has the 25"monitor . As for where i live , i live in the san francisco bay area. I am going to buy it now that i see how much it's wanted . I don't plan on keeping it because of space .I will post pics when i buy it. I would rather have an upright cab than a cockpit anyways . Maybe i am crazy !

I will trade you a upright in great shape and ship to you free for it.

I live in the Bay area also and have an upright that also has the Empire Strikes Back in it so you can play both. If you are interested in working some kind of trade let me know. You can PM me on here. But really, you should try to find a place to squeeze it in and keep the darn thing!
