I've got a chance to pick up a 1975 Chicago Coin "Gold Record" tomorrow for $95. I've basically run out of room, so for me to take this it better be worth it(not just the money, but the time, space, etc.). It is working, and appeared to have typical wear, most noticeably flipper drag wear.
What are you opinions?

I'd say any non-working pin is worth $100 but do you really want it? If you are already out of space and you don't plan to keep it you may have to sit on it for a while. The market for EM pins seems pretty slow in VA.

Well, it is working. So, I don't have any repairs to do on it. I would just have some cosmetic work to do.

And not many pop up for sale. I'd pickup an EM for $100 given the chance. That's about as much money as I'd like to have in one.

You just don't look far enough south. There are six or seven in the Virginia Beach area that have been on and off cl for the past two years. The listers continue to ask too much though. I'd be willing to pay upwards of $500 for certain em machines but I haven't seen any of those locally. I really like some of the em machines, much more so than almost every DMD machine.

It's been a month since I originally posted this topic, so I thought it was time for an update. I did pick up the machine a few weeks ago. It spent a week in my car because I didn't want to bring it in with all the snow on the ground. I managed to bring it in between snow storms.

Anyway, I had the past week off of work due to snow, so I got a lot done on it. I touched up the playfield and applied the clearcoat yesterday and today. The touchups aren't perfect, but are pretty damn good, especially considering what we started with.

I'll post some pictures today, hopefully. I'm glad I decided to get the machine. I think I've gotten my $95 out of it already, just because it has been a fun project and it kept me busy during the snow storms.

Stay tuned for before/after pictures.
