Gentlemen!
I have a quick question...I bought a monitor and I think it may have a mismatch of deflection board to CRT and I was wondering if this is an ok cross reference. The deflection board I have is a KTMF-27" (that is what is printed on it) I found a service manual for it and it seems to be a Sharp Image 27 SI-327. This deflection board is connected to a Zenith GA63ADG25 25 inch CRT. After I installed it into my machine it was making very weird noises and the picture was amazingly discolored and sorta blotchy brown so I immediately turned down the screen voltage which seemed to correct the problem. Consequently, I then had to turn up the brightness to about 90% full rotation I also noticed some corona discharge from the anode cap with a lovely smell of ozone (cleaned the back of the monitor near the anode cap). I then noticed that there was some slight rainbow effect on the bottom when I adjust the horizontal position up ward (vertical configuration) but it is easily hidden (possible over horizontal deflection?). The anode voltage is 25KV. The service manual says that the CRT should be a A68ACT00X. My concern is X-Radiation exposure if the voltage gets too high for this CRT but is below the protection circuit. I have it now fully operational and it looks sweet, no corona, no blotch, super sharp! Is this configuration acceptable?
Thank you
