Possible? Have Smash TV with Total Carnage and Robotron 2084 in it?

Hey Guys,

Finally picking up my Smash TV on March 3rd and I know I can get a Total Carnage PCB and just swap out the boards, but would it be possible to also have Robotron 2084 in it even though its not JAMMA?

I figure that would be the perfect machine for it seeing as it uses a dual joystick setup as well.

Ideally I would love to have all three games in it at once though I don't know if that is possible. Thoughts?

Thanks

Smash TV and Tatal Carnage are Jamma, that means they plug in VIA an edge connector,Original robotron Boards have molex connectors, you would basically need to have seperate wire harnesses in the cabinet to make it work if you are trying to go that route.Or buy a 19 in 1 jamma multi board that has the williams classics on it.But still you will need to plug one in at a time.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for! The strange thing is I did search for it here on KLOV but I wasn't able to find anything!

Now I'm trying to figure out if I should just get a 19 in 1 and set it to only play Robotron or should I have a Robotron PCB and get the adapter from the list above.

Does anyone have a 19 in 1? Does Robotron work well on it? I've heard it has problems . . .

19-1 robotron is fine if you are either not good at robotron and only play to wave 5 brains.

or if you've mastered real robotron and you want an extra challenge.

the blit rate is wrong so it's too fast and it's hard.
i really enjoy it because it makes for a fun 10minute challenge instead of a 45minute battle..... but even a master player is going to struggle to get beyond wave 28.

they say the JROK board does a nice job of emulating real robotron since it has the onboard Hardware, but the boards rarely come up for sale, they sell for around $300 and they are gone as quick as they get posted.

personally never played it but trust the feedback from the robotron enthusiasts who own it.

Go original if you are a real fan of Robotron. The 19-in-1 just doesn't do it a justice that is deserved.

Looks like I have a new game for my wishlist . . . can't I get a Joust, Stargate, or Splat PCB and burn new rom images and make those PCBs a Robotron?

i'm sure you can but i don't know anything about it.
seems like i read once that between robotron and stargate or joust there was a jumper change. sound board or rom board. i forget but it's white paper stuff on google.

you'd probably have to go to someone on here that can burn roms and has those images. sounds like a complicated switcheroo to me.

I have the equipment to burn roms so thats not an issue! I'm searching for the information now . . .
