I am currently working a deal on a they call it "Street fighter champion" But was there such a machine or was the first "champion" street fighter 2 ???
also what should one expect to pay for a machine like this with NON functional monitor?
they state they currently have it hooked up to a TV for display.

I have not seen this unit YET. trying to get a viewing set up.
Also advice and or tips of what to look for, or what to watch out for?

They have made it appear to be other wise a good functioning machine.

Look forward to all input thanks everyone.

Fair price and advice.. :)

Is this your first machine?

Do you really want a street fighter?

For a non working game i agree with copious $50. But if you really want that game and dont mind spending a little more than go for it. i guess also depends on where you are...do game come up often where you are...i can tell you around here non working street fighters are a dime a dozen..ive passed up working ones for $50 because i have no interest in them

Good luck

+1

If this is your first game don't do it. Your first game should be a working game you loved as a kid.

It's currently hooked up to a TV? Make sure to really look for some hacked wiring then. $50 is still a bit much if there's a rats nest inside. I'd personally like to start with something wired well but cosmetically beat up, but that's just me.

It's probably a SFII Champion Edition. You know, the one that lets you fight as the boss characters.

As for the TV, they must have one of those converter devices. If it is local to you, go look at it. Offer whatever you are comfortable with. They'll either take it or say no. You'll be so excited that you'll have a hard time concentrating and looking for issues anyways.

We can't really give you any pricing advise without a better description and some pictures.

Right on.

Yea, this would be my first video Arcade. I've had a couple of pins.
long story, miss the 1st, 2nd I ended up not finding any place like this
and donated it, miss it now.. lololol..
but sounds fair, sounds about right. all the information is just what i looked for..
And a honest expect or should be aprox.. Perfect thanks guys. Prevented me from offering probbly to much :)

And yea as for my fav, I missed that, In a local city someone CL'ed a Shinobi Free, I got there 5 min to late someone just walking buy got it with a dolly cause it was on curb... Just missed it.. :( Lololol.. And next i think mini Neo geo would be a cool one, like the multi card option easy change out and the 4 foot can fit anywhere :)

Krusher seriously I can't stress the importance of finding a working game you loved (or liked a lot) as kid for your first game. Even if it means holding out for some time. I understand when you get the bug it hits hard. But unless you have deep pockets your future in this hobby will be filled with cheap projects. 90% of us having one or more non-working game taking up space. Get yourself something you can lug home, plug in and play. From there you can experiment with different boards if possible and then the next purchase can be a project you bring back from the dead. The SF monitor should be fairly easy to get back up and running but you don't want to have to do a cap on your first game in order to play it. Just my two cents.

Thank you :)

Thank you, This is advice I will take to heart. Yea, your so right. Its one of those things where Yea the bug bites hard. And I have done this in the past. And will think hard about looking for a 1st and making sure its one I really want.. I missed the CL one lol that was a huge fav. but to pick a favorite. I gotta think about that and see what ones To consider. There was a few Pin's which were fav's and arcade wise, there were a couple which stand out, and like you said, I don't have the space or cash for dead projects :)

I like the idea of Trying different boards and stuff too.. I also work way better hands on and with a good manual :). I even started a used slot machine company and Filed the DOJ paperwork and went through tons of hoops. end result Was about 20 machines. which I ended up ripping down to components because I found that no one had the parts. And the machines were liked and popular, but what good does a heap of parts do when it comes to nothing to complete them.

So I do thank you for the info and really will take it to heart. cause if i had my choice id have a arcade instead of a home lololololol...
Speaking of, a local nice sized arcade just dissapeared.. and now wondering what happend to those machines .. lol
