Hello everyone. I am attempting to restore a popeye machine. I'm new to this so I am pretty much feeling my way through this. I sent the monitor board off for a complete overhaul. Once i got it back and plugged everything back together, all I got was a green screen with no sound. The PCB is original and has not been checked out. Any ideas about the green screen?

Thanks for your time.

Chase?

Sure, I can get all the shots needed. I am just unfamiliar with the term "chase". Thanks.

Sorry, First off I was typing and not reading.... Chassis, not chase. and this is what it is..

more pics

here are a few more photos. I do not know where the small red wire goes. And it looks as if some kind of a three prong connector goes into the bottom corner of the board but I don't have anything that goes there.

What did the picture look like before you sent it out?
Also, that small red wire goes into your inverter board (that I don't see). You should have your video cable going into and out of your inverter board.

still looking for possible causes for green screen

popeye machine has green screen and no sound. is this an PCB issue?

What did the monitor do before you sent it out? Did it work at all? Did you hear any sound before?

Check the voltages at the game board, make sure you're getting a stable 5v. Also, try unplugging the video connector from the monitor, you should get a grey/white screen then.

Also, did you hook everything back up correctly? Remember, the speaker in this game connects to the monitor's sound board, as does the game PCB's sound output.

unplugged video cable

I unplugged video cable and got a grey screen. I then pulled out the PCB and looked at all the chips. They are pretty corroded. Where to I place my volt meter to get a reading on the PCB. Thanks for your patience and time.

OK, so, your monitor is working correctly.

Start by checking the power. Look at the edge connector. One side of the connector has some notches in it that line up with keys in the connector (to prevent plugging it in the wrong way around). On that end of the connector, the first two pins on each side of the board are ground, and the next two pins on both sides of the board are 5V. Check there, and see what you get. You want it to be right at around 5v, give or take a fuzz.

Also, how corroded is the board? I know your monitor frame looks really bad - that game must have been somewhere damp for a while. Take a picture of the board, let's see how bad it looks.

i checked the voltage by placing my black negative lead on the first then second ground and my positive lead on the 3rd then 4th spot and got 10.0 volts. Inside the cabinet plug-in is reading 100 VAC as a nintendo cabinet should.
