Popeye: Volume knob anyone?

I recently aquired an upright Nintendo Popeye in nice shape. Works fine but the sound is very loud and I cannot find a volume knob anywhere on the pcb's or in the cabinet. The manual makes no reference to volume control. Does anyone know if there is a volume knob and if so, where is it? Thanks.

I found it! It's located on the monitor but the manual makes no reference to it. I followed the wires from the speaker and up to the monitor chassis... and whaaa laaa... a knob labeled sound.
