You're opening an arcade. You are given enough square footage to house 15 standard-sized machines. Which games do you throw in? Do you're personal taste take control? Or does the next-gen gaming come in for safety cash-flow???? You are given unlimited funds to play with, but square footage limitations!

Name them! Which cabs to go in? WHAT do you do cowboy????
WHAT DO YOU DO?

I'll kick it off in no particular order.

1. Star Wars cockpit
2. Centipede
3. Street Fighter 2 turbo
4. Marvel Vs. Capcom
5. Raiden 2
6. Tempest
7. Donkey Kong
8. Buck Hunter
9. Guitar Hero
10. Terminator 2
11. Fast and the Furious
12. Mario Bros.
13. Tron
14. Defender
15. Simpsons 4-player

Unlimited funds? None of those. Not a one of them. Unless I didn't care if the business turned a profit or not, I'd go with all new modern games and maybe a Reunion cab thrown in for good measure.

To be fair, the Guitar Hero is one of the newest and greatest. If I was building an arcade that I wanted today's kids to enjoy I'd have:

Marvel vs Capcom 2
Guitar Hero
DDR
Stern Spiderman pin
Afterburner Climax (preferrably cockpit)
and the rest of the space I'd fill with redemption games.

So no love from anyone on classics, eh?

I suppose thats what kills me most when I cruise thru the theatres, malls, and local wunderlands around here. They're all newer crap, redemption, or dancing machines. Is the market completely dead for the 21-50 year olds who played many of the original machines?

Sad that we cater to the rich, spoiled fat kids with machines that only they will enjoy. Seriouly though.....

At least their arcades won't go broke and be out of business in a matter of months like yours. ;) I did not even bother answering because this is an unfair question. I hate all the new games, but under your scenario I'd simply ask a distributor for the top 15 moneymakers and be done... boring. Now if you ask what 15 games I'd choose if stranded on a desert island with power and outlets for only 15 games... that might get a little more interesting. :D

They did make a market for us.. Strip bars!

lol,
kevin

You did say "standard-sized games", so I eliminated the ones from your list that don't apply. All the others can be put into a standard cab with a 19" monitor and 2-controller panel...
