Hi, all I did was adjust pop-bumper switches and lowered the playfield to check sensitivity and when i hit the start button one pop bumper fired and then all bumpers and slinshots just stopped and not actuating at all. Any ideas on why everything just stopped? Thanks my pop bumper were sluggish so all I did was adjust the switches for the 3 pop-bumpers. I used the leaf adjusting tool from pinball life just so you know. Jeff

Sounds like a short to me. Get out the matrix and see what wires control the pop bumpers, etc that are out and that is where to start.

Edit: did you adjust the pop bumper switch so close that it is always closed now? Gravity will help pill down the bumper, and if it was adjusted real close with the playfield up, it may be closed with it down. After a sec or 2 of being always on, I imagine that would blow the fuse and everything would stop working.

ya, all I did was adjust the pop bumper switches as the were not making proper contact resulting in soft "pops" so I lifted up the PF and cleaned and adjusted the contacts lowered PF and turned on machine , I heard a "pop" I then launched a ball and then noticed the pops just are dead now and then noticed the slings dont work and I did not touch the slings. I have fuses just dont know where my solenoid fuse is to switch it, I have this overwhelming feeling when looking at it as a whole, if I know where to look I can procede with confidence. Thanks

slo-blo or what? I do have fuses for this machine. Would this pop bumper fuse operate the slingshots too? Is it under the playfield or backbox? I'am new at this, sorry!

I don't know specifically what fuse to use, or which one it would be. Do you have a manual for it? If not you can get it here. http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?gid=1176
And yes, one poped fuse can take out several different coils, or light, etc. Even if you fuse isn't blown, plenty of other things can be wrong with that circuit now.

http://www.pinrepair.com/sys11/index.htm also has EXCELLENT info for you sys 11 pin.

This page is specific to non working coils for your sys 11 pin. http://www.pinrepair.com/sys11/index1.htm#trans

Also, a good rule of thumb for stuff that breaks right after you were poking around is, go back to that spot and find what you broke. :) We all have done it.

Have you lifted the playfield back up to see if you pinched a couple wires together?

Got it fixed!

Thanks to all for the help! Schusler Thanks for the link, I downloaded a copy of the manual, printed it out and stapled it like thwe original was. It was the "special solenoid" fuse (2.5 slow-burn)! I put a new fuse in, and cleaned the spoons real good with novus #2 and put more tension on the spoon switch, made sure contacts were not touching, turned machine on, checked sensitivity with finger over skirts, launched ball and the pop bumpers are firing like crazy, the best they have performed since I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. I was an easy fix thanks for the help. I'am happy to get it going.
