Anyone know what can cause a bulb to burn VERY BRIGHT? The bulb doesn't tkae long to burn, either. Continuity between an adjacent pop bumper bulb contacts test out okay, but the second bumper doesn't burn out of the ordinary.

The bumpers in question are both on the GI circuit.

Any suggestions to check?

Make sure there isn't flasher voltage running to the bulb. I had a Space Shuttle that had one of the bulb sockets touching a nearby flasher bulb socket and it made it glow super bright!

Which game is this?

I doubt it's an SCR, as it's in the GI circuit...

I'll meter it tonight, hopefully, and get back to you guys.

It's a 47 bulb in a 44 bulb circuit, still my only pin, Mata Hari.

Got around to looking into this today. I re-cut and stripped the wires going to the light connection in the pop bumper, as well as the wires going to the solenoid and switch. Got into the machine a bit better, and really did a much better job soldering all the connections.

My soldering iron cord was too short, so I got an extension cable for it. The pin doesn't have a grounded service outlet, so I had to go with the extension cord.

After re-working it all, everything works much better.

Moral of the story? Don't settle with "what you can work with". Always make sure you have comfort and can work over stuff at your own comfortable pace. Don't rush anything! :D
