Still on the lookout for my first pin and the Chicago area doesn't seem to offer much of interest.

This CL ad is asking $1,800 for Pool Sharks that seems to be in decent condition but crappy pics.

A quick KLOV search makes me think this is might be this $900 sale made earlier this year.

Is someone trying to double their investment? Regardless, what's a fair price for this pin? Anything particular to lookout for?

Thanks,

$900-1100, nowhere near what they are asking.

Thanks. I found another one nearby (maybe the same?) on Facebook marketplace, along with a Playboy, a Harley Davidson that's supposedly never been played outside of the factory, and another that I forget. The seller didn't list prices, just said he knows them (so why didn't he list them??). I said I'm interested at $950 if it's fully functional and as clean as he states. I guess I'll find out if I'm in his ballpark. :)

Thanks!

Maybe I'm just getting the ebay/Craiglist experience that I feel is talked about here, but my last few offers for things are being laughed at. Now I understand that an item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, but the chasm between me and the sellers has been laughable.

For example, I've made offers on a couple Pool Sharks pins, different games and sellers as far as I can tell. KLOV price check says $900-1100. One was asking $1,800 and the other say "it's in excellent condition for $1,400 firm but if it was in perfect working order it would be $2,500+".

2 things: I guess excellent condition is not perfect working order? And I'm trying to calibrate my pricing, so is this all to be expected and should I just try to find what I want on this forum?

Thanks! Cj
