PONG in a picture frame

Just a quick final (?) note on this project: I have now put a short web page together. A couple more photos, front panel graphics for download, and the EAGLE files for the little custom PCB at the moment. Cleaning up the FPGA source for the video upscaler is still on the to-do list...

My "Asteroids mini" page and some other hobby projects (mostly around vintage computing) are finally shown on the same site, btw.

That is VERY nice!

What is even more amazing is that Cinematronix vectors didn't have a discrete CPU either. Star Castle in a picture frame? ;)

Now there's a thought! :)

Or I might actually look into Computer Space, to move the final step back in arcade game history. I guess the original PCBs are unobtainium. But I could cross-breed this with my "replicating obsolete computers in an FPGA" projects and get a working replica? -- On the other hand, what is Computer Space without the original cabinet? This will need some more pondering, it seems...

Ahh -- and of course, this has already been done!
Nicely described by Mattias in this very forum:

Now, how to build this properly if one doesn't happen to be the owner of an original but empty cabinet...?

Maybe a custom fiberglass picture frame that displays like the front of a computer space cab, or a mini fiberglass computer space?

Or if you can get your hands on an original computer space PCB, make it like the pong picture frame only out of fiberglass?

Either way, fiberglass would be cool to incorporate into a mini/framed computer space.
