Some may recall the Kickstarter for the Polybius movie/documentary a year or so ago. It wasn't funded and they ended up not being able to make the movie (trailer below):

For the few that might be interested, on a recent episode of Bizarre States podcast, they mention that they're making a audio miniseries instead, since they couldn't manage the funding necessary to do what they wanted with the movie. Skip to about 32:45 for the start of the interview.

I dunno, I'll be interested to hear accounts from some people who really believe this stuff, so I'll be keeping an eye out for it. Updates on twitter @TracePod.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I can't fathom why this deserves a documentary or a series, as it's well known that it was a joke/hoax online. There's nothing to it.

I don't know about that, just because it would be a documentary about a hoax/urban legend doesn't mean it wouldn't be worth watching. The Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot aren't real either, but that hasn't stopped people from talking about them for years and years. I think a well-done documentary exploring why people are so eager to buy into hoaxes and conspiracy theories and things like that could be really interesting, despite the fact that Polybius is 100% bullcrap.

To be honest, never heard about this alleged urban legend until Klov. Are there any real media accounts of this "legend" in vintage newspaper media archives?

Exactly. I love me a good conspiracy theory regardless of how flimsy the story is. The fact that it's also related to my hobby is just gravy.

What reference is there that shows it was a hoax? What is the story of the hoax?

(Not disagreeing with you, just looking for information.)

Interesting though the stuff about men in black, unknown parts and mind control comes across like something from an episode of The X-Files.
Maybe that's why I dig it :D

Perhaps that's what the lizard men followers of Xenu want us to think ??
