I'm in the process of building/completely restoring an upright Star Wars and the PCB cage is rusted up from rats living in the cabinet. I've been trying to find a replacement cage with no luck (if anyone has a nice one let me know PLEASE). I have been unable to find a place to replate the cage gold iridium (I blelieve that's what they were). The plater that I checked with wanted crazy money and it wasn't going to match $300+.

So know if I can't find another cage to use, I will just get it powder coated with everthing else. May delima if I go this route is what color to do it in? They can do a gold like color but it has to have 2 coats. So that is going to be out cost wise. I'm thinking about just doing either gloss black or a silver. Thought it would be cool chrome but that was going to be the $300+.

Thanks for the link. The reviews seem hit or miss on that stuff. I would think it may be hard to get the inside of the cage sprayed.

What do you think it would look like it I did the top and bottom of the cage (where it is rusted) in black powder coat and leave the sides alone since they are in good shape?
