POLL: Least $$$ paid for a Star Wars, Tron or other high dollar game

Just thought this should make for some good posts. The odds of me finding a bargain buster price on a high dollar game like Tron or Star Wars is slim to none, but I'm curious, anyone ever get lucky? Looking for posts like, lets say, under $500 paid for a fully working and complete game, or under $500 spent on a beater plus the parts/labor needed to bring it back from the dead.

If you are a lucky bastard, make yourself known :D

I got a free fully working Galaga , bclark on here gave me a tip about a Craigslist add and I was the first to contact .

$15 for a Jurassic Park pinball from the thrift store. Traded the pinball for a working Ms. Pac and a Galaga with a small wiring problem.

Picked up 2 trons last year, one for $150 and one for $100. The guy on the $100 one didn't think it worked, took it home and realized he didn't know about the power button on the top.Flipped the button and it played perfect. The second one works except for the spinner knob. The $100 one's cab needs some love but for what i gave i'm happy.

I had a few good deals last year.
I bought a working Tron and Asteroid Deluxe $200 each.
Bought 4 Ms Pacs for $50 each, 2 worked the other 2 had board issues.
That's all I can think of right now.

Best recent deal was a $10 Joust in pretty nice shape (posted about it with pics a while back).

Best deal I think I ever heard of- $150 Star Wars Cockpit with a 25" Amplifone across from the Bellville Fairgrounds in the Hardee's parking lot. We saw it and figured it was someone meeting up at the auction, turns out the guy took it there on his own and was trying to sell it at Hardee's since he heard there was an auction across the street.

got my tron for $200...
but it looked like this:

gota ms pac for 75, dont think that really counts tho

I got a near mint Star Wars w/original amp monitor and 175 plays on the counter with a near mint centipede for $500. Sold the pede for $350, so the SW cost me $150. Needed a new HV, but works now.

Wow thats a score!!!

Hmm.

I have two Tempest's (one working and beautiful and one project). Both were free. A cap kit is my investment so far.

I have a nice Robotron. $50 purchase. Cap kit, RAM upgrade, and battery upgrade - $50 maybe.

Midway Space Invaders - working and free.

Joust cocktail - free + cap kit and PS rebuild.

Q*Bert - working. Traded a free working Xevious I got.

Hmm. Actually I have a bunch of games and I don't think I've ever paid more than $150 for anything. And I doubt I've paid more than $100 in parts to fix anything either. Of course, that will most likely change at some point...

I paid $300 for a Starwars upright. The owner told me it was non working so was taking a chance. I got it home looked inside the cabines and the connector was off of the PCB!!! hooked up the PCB and the game fired right up! (300 for a ANY StarWars is very cheap in Canada)

Low Cost Cool Games

$60 Major Havoc original cabinet converson. Took me some time to recognize it. Hope to convert it back. I bought it because it was a cool cabinet.
$80 F-14 Tomcat Pinball at a swap meet 2 weeks ago.
$5 Gorgar Pinball - Hit by forklift. Patched it up and it worked!!

I did some repair work for a guy - I repaired an old Super Nintendo display kiosk. I put a fair amount of work into it, really cleaning and repairing everything so it worked like new. The guy was real impressed, and said "I know you are into arcade games, I'll tell you what - I have a game I'll give you for fixing that". Of course, when he said that, a Tetris conversion flashed in my mind... Turns out it was a Star Wars upright. Decent condition, no back door, WG 6100 instead of the original Amplifone, but, still - a good deal. Of course, it doesn't work, but I'll get around to fixing it one of these days...

You know, it figures, I always wind up fixing things for other people (For example, I'm the one that fixed Masco73's Star Wars...), but never get around to fixing things for myself. I need to get myself motivated one of these days. :D
