Question - what would you pay for a brand new, LED-based 12-digit Hyperball playfield display? Also, if one became available, would you consider purchasing one?

New displays/glass are non-existent, and many owners have dead displays, or ones with various issues. If there is enough demand, and a cost-effective LED replacement is possible, we may see these become available.

Please note what you think a "fair" price would be for such a product, as well as what you'd consider the maximum reasonable price you'd pay for such a product, considering the alternatives available (finding a good/used display).

Obviously we all want to save a buck, so the cheaper, the better, but if we really want to see these become reality, we need to know whether there's a big enough market out there for these, and whether they're cost-effective to design/produce.

Thanks!

Not a huge demand for Hyperball, last couple I've seen for sale locally were $100.

I've got one with a bad display, but I've already got $275 in the machine and I wouldn't want to sink anymore $$ into it, because of it's value.

I have a nib one that i opened 2 months ago....and the diplay is missing a couple segments

I have a working display now, so I am not SUPER into spending alot at this time, but for me personally, $50-75 would be my max. I already have WAYYYYYY too much invested in my machine to ever recoup what I have in it :(

$300 for (really nice) machine.
$200 for TONS of spare parts (many of which got destroyed in my basement flood)
$ ??? for board repairs (still out being fixed)

and with these selling in the $300-450 range, I can't justify spending much more on mine.

That said, I really admire your willingness to try a project like this. I really wish there were more interest in Hyperball. It is a BLAST to play when working right, and when mine was up, it was by far the most played machine by guests to my house.

Perople gravitate to it because it's so different.

I have mine working now. Bought a new motor control board. i am now all set with my Hyerball.

A bit more information; note that any solution would be more than *just* the display; additional circuitry is required to provide power to the display as well, since the LED displays are low-voltage (5v), and the current display is high-voltage (+/- 100v/90v). Keep this in mind when considering pricing.

Thanks,

Brent
