So what's your favorite Atari 2600 cartridge that's an actual arcade game?

For the sake of this thread, Pac Man is not an option...:D

Kaboom! best game ever on the 2600 for me, I wish they would of made it a dedicated arcade game back in the days.

Berzerk was probably the most accurately done... Phoenix, Space Invaders, and Missile Command were also favorites of mine.

Hard to pick one. The top two I played the hell out of was Berzerk and Yars' Revenge.

Yars Revenge was just for the 2600... I think Berzerk is probably the best port, but the one I played the most was Asteroids.

Favorite Arcade ports on the VCS (Games that are actually conversions of arcade games - that rules out Yar's, Raiders, River Raid, Pitfall, etc...)

VCS arcade conversions were generally a letdown but 2 that I felt remained true to the mechanics were Space Invaders and Frogger. Played a lot of both of them. Space Invaders was in many ways better because of the ability to have a "Simultaneous Local Competitive Co-op Off-line Multiplayer" mode.

Fun fact: Yar's Revenge was supposed to be a Star Castle conversion. Great story behind that in Riding the Beam.

Vanguard gets my vote.

I remember how excited I was when the new games came out. The 2600 was a big part of my growing up and probably contributed to my "addiction". :)

Looking back, it was amazing how they adapted all those games for this console.

Best "arcade related" game -> Demon Attack and Yar's Revenge (tie)
Runners up -> River Raid and Barnstorming and ... (many more)

Apologies -- I missed the arcade port qualification. Honestly that was never a strength of the 2600, though. All the best games were original to the console pretty much. Now, if we're talking Colecovision....

Kaboom! best game ever on the 2600 for me, I wish they would of made it a dedicated arcade game back in the days.

Kaboom! was by far the greatest 2600 game. It would have made an awesome arcade game back in the day.

Anyway, the best one that actually made it to arcades... Frogger.

I had a ColecoVision with the Atari adapter, actually I still do. My favorite Atari 2600 game without a doubt was Pitfall, but I'd have to say my favorite arcade port was Asteroids.

Centipede and Defender for me. Both games were super fun and their sounds are still ingrained in my brain. Asteroids was also a good one. Loved the colored space rocks. Missile Command was actually the first one I ever played on the Atari, though I never really liked it much.

It wasn't the best of conversions, but Q*Bert got a LOT of play on my 2600. Playing Q*Bert on my 2600 a few years back actually spurred me to buy the arcade version. I haven't played the 2600 since getting my Q*Bert cab though. I pulled the console out yesterday and the Q*Bert cart was still sitting in there.
