Not that you need any more $0.02 but if it were me and I really wanted to play and the game was going to be a keeper and I had the disposable income at the time... I'd go for the new monitor. But I'd also keep an eye out for a tube so I could try and fix the old one "eventually".

Amen. After you fix the old monitor you have a spare and if you ever decide to sell the game you can swap and keep the new monitor.

It'd be killing me to see it sit as well. But I'm not in the position to drop $450 on just a monitor. For that $ you could get a second RTR! And that is what I'd try to do. Get one working, all the while keeping your eye out for a proper tube to fix the other.
Cause eventually, you're going to want at least 2 of them anyway

Took me 5 years and a trek to CAX to get this one...



I think i am gunna get the new monitor. The monitor I have in the Golden Tee needs work as well... so I figured I'll get the new one... look for a tube for the old one ... when I get the tube I'll replace the one in the Golden Tee and have a spare "working but needs work" monitor.

Yeah... it sucks ass... but as they say... oh well.

I sold my Pole Position II for $400... that'll pay for most of the monitor.

Yea, I feel your pain there, I had to drive 13 hours one way for 3 of them I have.

And it's good that you can cover most of the cost by selling a game. I've said it before, but since I got my RTRs, PPII gets very little love...
