Poll: Building a new Time Pilot cabinet, keep it original or?

With the new side art coming out soon from Rich, i'll be building a brand new cabinet for my restoration. I was wondering what you guys thought about these possible colors instead of the ugly 70's wood panels. Please vote for your 1st and 2nd choice.

I prefer original. I wouldnt even restore that cab it looks nice the way it is. Thats the way It came from the arcade thats the way I would leave It.

How about the yellow but add the orange strip around the edge like the marquee. Yea it would be a lot of extra work but if done right would look cool.

He don't roll like that, take a peek at some of his restos....

I'm with you though, if it shows some mileage it's ok, if it's a rotting pile then it's time to resto.

i'd go with black IF you build a new one, BUT i'd always prefer the original cab over a reproduction. the cab itself is the heart of everything, if you take it away and replace it with a new one you're taking away its soul. but that's just my two cents!

Not that anyone cares what I think: You're seriously making a new cabinet for THAT Time Pilot??

I would take ANY Time Pilot, especially one that looks that good, and only work on the internals to preserve what it is. The most I would do is get the side art. I have sheer love for Time Pilot. One of my top 5 at least.

That's equivalent to taking a great, acclaimed guitar with some little battle scars from years of use and deciding to rebuild the entire frame, body, and neck of it just to make it "look better". That guitar sure as heck wouldn't play better, it would play worse!

Or, if you think the wood grain is that bad, then there are plenty of other KLOV members that would rather keep this Time Pilot the way it is. I, for one, would baby this game.

Keep it original. End of line.

:) that's not my time pilot, just a pic I grabbed off the web after searching Google.

I prefer the wood paneling. I like my games original. BUT, if you have to change it, I like the blue the best.
Wood paneling ugly?? I don't think so. :)

I never really liked the woodgrain cabinets, especially for space games. If I were going to do a woodgrain and build it from scratch, I'd make it a real woodgrain and not a laminate. I like the yellow. There are not as many yellow cabs. the orange or blue look too much like a Nintendo cab.

I would go black. The orange and blue are too much like the standard Nintendo cabinets. I would go yellow if not black.

And I love orange T-moulding because rarely ever see it in use.

I say black as well. The blue looked ok, but the black was better.

Original is my vote.

Either leave as is, or restore as close to original as possible.
