Wondering what you guys would give for a police force project? The wife and I went to one of these local town fall festivals and walking down the street I notice something that said police something in an overcrowded tv repair shop windowfront. Being nosy I walked over and was staring at a police force with no cover glass and legs removed sitting on the floor. The shop owner said it belonged to a friend of his and he had brought it there to be fixed. The shop owner said he had it working part ways, but had ran out of free time to work on it and it had sat there for a while now. I left my contact info to pass along to the owner. So, if the owner calls, what would be a good price to offer?

How's the playfield and plastics? Most system 11 games, in descent working condition (w/ the exception of Funhouse), average about $700 - $1000. If this is a project and needs work, but the playfield is descent, I'd offer between $350 - $500. Good luck. I haven't met a system 11 game I didn't like.

I've seen 2 Police Forces that were fully-operational for sale for $700 or less in the last six months.

If you like the game, pay what you want. If you don't want to end up putting more into the game than you could sell it for, anything more than $300-400 could be a bad situation unless you know exactly what's wrong.

Honestly Police Force isn't exactly sought after game which is good news for you. I've seen that game popup in my area a couple different time in the last year for ~$800. If the game doesn't work and doesn;t have legs I'd price that thing at half price. Reason being is if you need to either buy a driver board or get it replaced those are MAJOR expense unless you think you can fix it. Besides protect yourself because when you go to sell it (you will) you want to at least recover your investment.

Deadly - if it ends up needing an MPU for example due to excessive batttery damage, System 11 MPU's generally can be had for $175-$225. That's the price the market would bear last time I unloaded a stack of nice working ones. It's a bit of a misnomer to call it a driver board, since System 11 (and 9) combine functions of MPU and driver on one large board.
This is a game that in nice, fully working condition is generally worth about $700-$800.

You don't consider ~$200 expensive for an (MPU) board let alone for an $800 pin? Geez ......

@ OP - Any time I buy a (working) pin I automatically plan on $300 in parts. It's a safe figure to use. The price I stated of $400 + $200 for MPU +$300 (again that's extra padding) puts the game in a range that you can recoup the money when you decide to sell it.

I've seen these working for sale in the $500-600 range, so if it is not working I'd stay WELL below that if you think you might ever sell it and want to break even on it.

I'm more concerned with what I could possibly get it for. Costs after aquiring it is not that much of a concern as I don't rotate my machines( look at my VAPS).

I had one I bought and then sold in that price range. Took a while to sell to. Not a bad pin, I would own it again for that price range.

Went by this guys shop today and that police force is still there along with a space duel video. Obviously after sitting there a year, the guy has no intentions of doing anything with it.
