I'm getting a blue screen with 'ROM 8" at the top left. My problems started when I turned the game on, and it would take about 10 seconds to start. I replaced Board A of the A/R II, which fixed the problem for a few days.

Yesterday, I played a game and got a weird high score table after I was done. After that, I heard the game credit, and froze on the 'Game Over' display. I powered the game off, powered it back on after 30 seconds, and got the blue screen that I have now.

What would be the issue, and what would be a remedy? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I just noticed I typo'd. I meant ROM 8 in the title box.

Rom 8 is located at 3D on the cpu board, first check that the 5V is good on the cpu, check it at the test points on the board, not on the AR-II or the edge connector, low voltage can cause rom errors, if the voltage is ok then pull the rom out and make sure the legs are clean, re-insert the rom and try it again, if that doesn't help you will need to replace rom 8.

Thanks, Dick, I will try those steps. For the worst-case scenario of replacing ROM 8, where/how do I get a hold of a replacement?

Replacing rom 8 isn't guaranteed to fix it, there are other things that can cause that error, the easiest and surest way is to put that rom into a working board and see if the error still happens, if it does then replace rom 8, I can send you one if you don't get the problem rectified.
