Pole Position... You knew it was coming.

I dont recall. Did you bypass the edge connector by running +5 and GND to the test points on the board? If not thats got something to do with why the sense parts fried. If so then your edge connector my be on up or down a bit too much.
i bought the game unworking and thats how i got it running !
tonight i added a fan to the back.but thanks I didnt mod the sense circuit and i didnt do wires to all the test points.
i just did a crimp spade without cutting the wires and piggyback to the test points one on each board very clean .

I just can't seem to find the sweet spot in that first turn to not "chirp" the tires.

If you mean car position on the track, there isn't one. It has nothing to do with where you are on the track and everything to do with how much you've turned the wheel as your car enters the turn and goes around the curve. It takes some practice to turn gently into the curve without over steering. I've found it better to stay mostly to the right as you enter the first turn, because your car will drift to the left as it rounds the curve without chirping the tires. You don't want to wind up on the shoulder, which slows you down.

that funny i found it best to stay on the outside an before you get to the sign on the left start turning slowing to the right into and before the corner and let the car rift back outside after the corner new 61850
