Pole Position UR pedal - cleanup recommendations?

I just went through this about 2 months ago. I used aircraft stripper to remove the old non-skid tape on the pedal. Then I glass beaded the pedal and mounting plate. Once all the rust had been knocked off the pedal I used a die grinder with an aluminum cookie on the pedal to get down to new looking metal. then I took it to the wire wheel on the bench grinder to bring a nice shine out and removed the sanding marks left by the cookie. The I applied non-skid tape (think from lowes or the depot) to the pedal. I had to cut it down to size, but it worked very well. Then I had a friend powder coat the mounting plate and re-assembled with new springs, cable etc. I only spent about an hour to make it look just as nice as the one in the link above. most of the tools I used you can find in dremel kits, they may just add to your time spent on the project. I enjoyed bringing mine back to like new condition. PM me if you need any help and with and address I can send you a piece of the tape I used (since I had to buy a roll).

Thanks for the info. I found the non-skid tape at a hardware store and was able to clean the pedal. Luckily the mounting plate wasn't worn badly so it cleaned nicely and a coat of paint made a great improvement.
