Dont worry, this is not another newby ( Though I am) asking if I should modify or not to modify the sense mods. In My PP2, I have installed a new monitor, connected +5 and GND to both game boards, rebuilt main transformer, replaced both big blues. It was working pretty good for about a week and basically the sound just stopped working. Researching on this forum, the need to rebuild the AR2 boards seemed to be essential. I have had this monster in my basement and finally decided to fix the rest of it or throw it out. I was mostly afraid to use at the cost of my boards being fried!!! I have been toiling and toiling whether or not to deactivate the sense. I read last night, nearly every post on this subjuect and finally, I leaned towards NOT removing the sense. So I rebuilt the AR2s and fired it up, adjusted the voltage to 5.05v and the sound still did not work. But, the strange faded coloring thing that has also plagued this machine was gone.
Frusrated with the sound thing ( it is faint and adjustment with the service knobs inside the coin area did nothing). So, I started messing with the coin mechanics and 7 Qs fell thru the mechanism--apparently my 6 yr old wanted to play it--I was wondering where my Q have been going. Wouldn't you know it, the sound has been GREAT since that moment.
anyone heard of that before??
anyway, I played a dozen games or so and monitored the voltage to each of the boards with a DMM. seemed pretty rock solid at 5.05V. I started buttoning up the game and all of the suddon the fading issue was back. If you havent guessed it, it was the video edge connector: if I put a little stress on it, it is perfect Pic, If I relieve the tension the pic fades. reading the numerous posts on this subject, it seems as though countless members suggest adding an edge connector kit. This I will definitely do.
Which set from Bob do I order?? I do not want to order the wrong one.

If anyone has other suggestions please let me know--especially the guys that have been doing this awhile--thats how we newbys learn.
