My PP1 is stuck in freeplay. I made the adjustment to the board using the dips and don't like the way it works. Now it won't go back. Is there a way to clean the dips or is the dip bank shot. I tried moving the offending switch a few times as to "clean" the contacts but no help. Is this something usual for these fragile boards, I don't like messing with my working PP board if I don't have to. WHEN IS SOMEBODY GOING TO MAKE A MODERN REPLACEMENT?

Those switches can definitely fail. It's a simple matter to check them though - use your meter and check to see which of them has failed. If it's really bad switch, then you can replace that switch block. It's also possible that whatever chip reads the switches has failed, or has developed bad connections at the socket. So, first, check the switches with your meter. If they're good, then follow the schematics and see what chip has those switches as inputs, and check there.
