Well I finally got my self a PP and started looking at the side art.
Ive had alot of requests for this over the years and suprizingly as simple as most of it is
it had never been done even in inkjet form as far as I know.

So I worked up some vectors last night.

So is there still interest in this?
Basically theres 3 options
SIlkscreen- (obvious choice I know) but is there really enough demand?
Solvent inkjet - I think this goes without saying
Stencil Set - This would be for the stripes and logo only which would include a solvent inkjet of the color graphic.

not looking for comments like "Im in depending on price":D
Beacuse anyway you look at this sideart the sets would run in the $125-$150 range
for any of the above choices.
It really boils down to how many sets are in need.
any addtional thoughts/comments...

Is solvent inkjet really an option? You can't do silver with it can you? Before you did the PP CPOs, I had an inkjet CPO made, and it just wasn't right with grey instead of silver.

Would the silkscreen include the center graphic?

I will likely be building a repro PP cockpit so obviously cab artwork is important for me, but it's for a cockpit. Any chances of cockpit artwork??? There are images on localarcade I think, but I don't know how accurate they are.

ditto..........

Here you go
http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-NOS-Pole-P...930154007r3538

NOS PP2 has come up for sale a few times selling for around $175-$200
not that much more than a reproduction would cost.
Mamemarquees average price on a Full Side art set for an Atari cab runs around $185
and the PP2 art that turns up is orginal!!

I have scans of PP2 that could be inkjetted but wouldnt be any cheaper an will proably never be silked-IMO

That has been up on feebay for a while. You gotta believe the current price is keeping it from selling. Most pole positions sell for under $100, by the time you add in all the repair costs for the boards, new cpo's and side art, etc, etc you're going to have a great condition game but i'm wondering if you were to try to sell it after all the work and costs that you'd get more than $200 for it? Most likely you'd better plan on keeping it.

I think Rikitiki's point is if no one is ponying up for a NOS set of PP II art then why repro it. The repro price isn't that much different.

If it were silkscreened, yes it would have the center graphic
I only showed it without for those that might consider stencil and then apply the seperate color graphic allready avaiable.

and yes the one draw back on a solvent inkjet would be the silver : (
but on the plus side its not as sparkly as the cpo :D

and yes from last post that is my point here we have orginal art thats been on ebay some of which that has sold before but some that hasnt
so your right if your not paying out on orginal art for aprox. the same costs
its doubtful the interest for repro is there for either version for that matter.
Problem with Sideart is it gets sooo expensive to run either way just on its size alone.
we're not talking $50 for a little 12x24 CPo
most sideart is aprox 18sqft (3ftx6ft) per side and with typical places like Kinkos or local sign shops charging aprox. $8sqft thats $288 for a set of inkjetted sideart.

So costs like these tend to outway the price of a decent cab in most cases.

Sounds like I must have no chance in hell of getting cockpit art from you! :( Didn't think I would, but doesn't hurt to ask. :)

Id be happy to print a solvent inkjet of the cockpit arft for you ShanMan if you want to use that art on AAL. we can rework it if necessary and I can do some color work on it for best match ups and Ill even help you install it :D

Awesome. Your offer will be a huge source of motivation for me to actually do the cab repro. I have no reference in hand to go from in order to determine how good the art is, so maybe we can get help from someone on that part. Phet?

Wow I might consider actually fixing up my Pole Position...cab is literally missing chunks but a couple gallons of bondo and it should look good again :)
