Hello all, I just bought a Pole Position and when I turn it on I get the screen below. I hoping someone can point me in the right direction to start. I'm kind of new at fixing these so any help you can give would be great. Also if anyone is in the Seattle area and would be willing to let me help them fix some games so I could learn that would be fantastic.

Thanks everyone,

Phil

Hey Phil, you picked a whopper for your first repair. Pole Positions are notorious for going bad. You're not far from one of the better Pole Repair guys, Dick Millikan. He's a Washington State resident and a member here. He can help you.

Start with the edge connector that connects the video and cpu boards together. I had mine all the way on and got that screen, i backed it off with the power on until i heard the explosion startup sound. My needed to be in a really specific position to work correctly.

Thanks Fudd. Easiest fix ever. I pulled the boards out and the connector had completely fallen off. All I had to do was put it back on and now I have pole position!! I'm super excited about this one. Thanks for your help.

I was told the boards we rebuilt not to long ago. They moved the cabinet and it stopped working so instead of trying to get it fixed they decided to sell it...cheap!

I wish mine was that easy. I got my board connector, so now I can see all of the pretty zeroes on my screen. :)

I found this tutorial on a switcher install for PP, do you know if this is a good method?
