A friend and fellow KLOVer came over today to help me work on PP. We set up a temp test bench...well more of a table than a bench man that this take up alot of room.

I have 3 complete sets of baords...this is the best we got...after frying an r29...will that stink ever go away!

Here is where we got...any suggestions on where to start?

So far we have:
reseated all socketed chips
Rebuild/tested ARIIs
Both new big blues and working Brick
Test points look good getting +5 all across the boards

Hi,
welcome in the club of dead PP boards.
There are a lot of threads to this theme. In my cellar, looks similar like your "workbench"
I have 3 working PP boardsets. On PP_II running for about 1 year in a sit down cab(tuned up to speedmax of 440 km/h, great to drive), the other two waiting for exchange in Germany(non working to working and additional payment).
My opinion is to renew all sockets on both pcbs and you will never have trouble again (hard but true). It is a work for dummies. Dick Millickan is the expert on PP.

Refering to your pic I assume the bug is the pcb connector.
Good luck

slowly move the interconnect board while the game is running....you'll fine a sweet spot where the game will suddenly come on...it has to be in the right spot..
