Pole Position Prototype... what cabinet was used?

Attached are photos of a Pole Position cockpit prototype. The machine came from Paul Mancuso who worked on the project.

See the photos. The one with the two loose pieces of wood are interesting. That wood is to extend the back of the cabinet because the monitor doesn't fit in it properly. Which suggests Atari just used a previous cabinet or parts of a previous cabinet for this prototype. If the cabinet was just a re-used older machine its a tad less interesting than if they just used some cabinet parts etc. to make something brand new or modified the monitor size after they built the cabinet.

So that magic question for everyone is .... Do you recognize the cabinet?

Monte Carlo has selectable tracks...and this machine has a button hole for "track select"... it also has a 4-way shifter...
