Hi,
after reading several threads about the great power consumption of PP, my question was : how hungry are the PP-pcbs in real.
I have one non-working pcb on my workbench (15A switcher), my Ampere-meter only has a range up to 10A, therefore I measured Video and CPU pcb as stand alone.

And now the great surprise: the CPU board takes about 3,5A
the Video board takes about 4,5A at +5,05V.
But that's only the +5V line, the +12V line I didn't check.
Maybe the pcbs takes a bit more when ths System runs.

But it was interessting. Did anyone measure it before ? I can't find.

post a pic of the screen with the trouble you are having. if you are running a switcher there is a good chance the board will boot. the edge connector and interconnect are big problems.

+1. I recommend making a small harness with 1/4" spade connectors on it that plug into the test point tabs on the board. The edge fingers alone really aren't capable of handling the current these things draw.

Hi,
thanks for your interest.
With the +12V line I meant that I don't know how much the 4 amplifieres consume.
For the moment I am working at the clock circuits, cause I miss one clock signal but still waiting for new chips already ordered.
