I made a short video of the power and cooling modifications I did earlier on my Pole Position II. The modifications were:

1. Bypassing the edge connector by jumping the ARIIs to the PCBs
2. Replacing the fuse block to prevent F3 from blowing
3. Installing a fan

There are several ways to accomplish the same result, so I wanted to share mine. Since these modifications were completed, I have had absolutely no issues with the game. The video is available below, as well as on the video page of my website here. Enjoy!

Hey, great video. I already did the fuse and the jumper wire upgrade and am now wondering if it's worth it to do the fan upgrade. I keep my backdoor off all the time and it's never too hot in my basement. So, is it necessary?

I don't think so. With your back door off, I don't think you could build up enough heat to kill the boards.

I wish this was around 2 months ago when I was repairing the one in our office. This will really help others out. I ended up going the separate in-line fuse holder route figuring that if the connectors aren't rated to hold 25amp, then I didn't know how good those little tabs were either. I rebuilt the edge connector with one of BR's kits, but I still ended up hard wiring it into the PCB after a slightly loose connection ended up burning the new edge connector. Save your money and just go the route in the video.
