I have the following untested Pole Position PCBs for sale:
Namco Pole Position 2 - (I assume its PP2 because some of the ROMS say PP 2) - $75 shipped (pics 1 and 2) - SOLD
Atari Pole Position 2 - $75 shipped (pics 3 and 4) - SOLD
Atari Pole Position 1 - $75 shipped (pics 1 and 2 below) - SOLD

All look complete to my untrained eye but judge for yourself. I have a working Pole Position but I'd like to keep it that way so I do not want to test any of these.

i dont think your risking much by testing them. plus if they work you could easily double those prices, probably closer to $200. but i understand not tempting the pole position gods.
thanks

The first 3 years I owned my Pole Position, it worked about 5% of the time.

For the last 3+ years, it has been running great (knock on wood). I am not touching that thing (other than playing it) until it dies again ...

Never seen the Namco PP pcb's before. Looks like the connector is different from Atari's version.

Is the Namco pcb bootleg or legit? Or were they used only in Japan?

These were used in upright Pole Positions in Canada. US style upright cabinet, but wire harness designed for the Namco version pcb. They are legit 100%.

Yes, each board had its own power supply, and this version never needed a fan, or overheated. WAAAAAAAY more stable than the Atari PP pcb set.

i think they were mostly installed in the cockpit machines

I only found them, and heard of them in uprights here in Canada, maybe also as you say in sit down PPII cabinets as well.
