Hi,
thanks for replies.
I found the PAL at 7C, already ordered but not tested yet.
Seems to be a new one, think he cracked the original.
Maybe it is possible to make one looking at the whole memory map
http://mamedev.org/source/src/mame/drivers/polepos.c
When any member could do this, would be nice.
But I am not familar with making PALs or GALs.
Steph from hobbyroms doesn't have it. But an excellent service for all other PROMs.

I've got a couple left that MarkUK (RGVAC guy from a long time ago) made for me. I don't remember if they're GALs or PALs. If my programmer can read them, I can send the file to Steph.

The problem with PALs and GALs is that they have security mechanisms
which prevent you from reading the data,
so you need the original truth tables to program a new chip.
(...which, arguably, was only available from the developers.. )

I "can" program PALs and GALs, but I need the correct tables.

So if anyone can crack these, please let me know...

Cheers,
Steph

Did anyone ever repro these Pole Position 7C chips?

I could use one.

Thx

If you have the ability to burn 82s153:

*Edit, if you open that doc in notepad it says the device its made for is a GAL g16v8s, which is a lot easier to burn.

Lucky for you, the GAL does not use the UV eraser.
So, you only have to learn how to use one of those thing-a-ma-jigs. LOL

Unfortunately, the GAL16V8 is not supported by the GQ-4x4 (piece of crap, not sure why we continue to recommend it).
As I recall, that is why, similar to comments above, I also purchased a TL866 (GAL programming for Q and MH etc).
