OK, so I am changing pace from my Omega Race to the Pole postion (one headache to another). I have sound, lights but no video. I checked out the voltage at the test points on both boards and adjusted accordingly (+5.08V). Reset the edge connectors and ensured they were clean, pulled the interconnect board cleaned and reinstalled. I have a glow from the monitor neck and all the fuses are good. Where to next???

crank the brightness- do you get raster?
crank the color pots on the neckboard - any/all colors visible?

connect this PCB to the monitor in your other Pole Position - does the monitor work for both/neither?

PCB works fine in the other PP. I will crank the colors on the neck board and the brightness and see what I get. So far I can see just a flicker in the lower left corner of the monitor and the neck glows. I am going to try the other PCB from the other machine in this one as well and see if the result is the same. I will probably check back tomorrow with my findings.

If swapping the PCBs doesnt show the problem, put the machines close together and just cross the monitor connections between the 2 machines - that'll show if the problem is in the wiring between the PCB and the monitor.

I still have nothing. Hooked up to the other machine and now that one does not work. These darn PP, move them and they go out of service on you. Working with the same machine still...... I cranked everything up and got nothing at all no Raster or colors. Neck is till glowing however. At this point would it be better to swap the Mats. Monitor out???

Lack of raster indicates a problem monitor.

you know both PCBs work (or did before your PP stopped working), right? If so, you need to know if the prob is the wiring or the monitor - you could use the MsPac machine to test.

good luck

connect PP harness video wires to the MsPac monitor. If you get colors and video, you know the PP harness works and the failure is the monitor.

Bob Roberts sells a cheap 10' monitor cable that is useful for using a monitor in another machine without having them so close together.

OK, so I grabbed another one of my boardsets and popped it into the machine and got just a line across the middle of the monitor. Guess I have some board issues......

"A line across the middle of the monitor" could also point to a problem with the monitor's vertical deflection, couldn't it? I am not an expert on monitors, but I wouldn't rule out a damaged display.

I had similar issue. The wiring to the right of the 5 fuses was loose and coroded. Moved the wires around and the game kicked on.
