working on a (new to me) pole position. lights on, monitor on, no power to the boards, tested at wire harness. swapped out both big blues with new caps, same results. the power block will pop the F3 fuse every so often.

any way to figure out if i have a bad power block/transformer, or which one of the 2 AR boards may be shot? measuring output on each AR board at the test point gave me very low readings. should be a 10.3 volt test point, was only putting out .689 + .674 on both boards.

thanks in advance.

+1 sounds like you have no power to the ar2s or two smoked ar2s.

sometimes you can get lucky and replace said resistors and they come back from the dead.

no burnt resistors or anything on either ARii board, that i can see. i have 2 good AR ii boards that i can swap into this cab, but am i running a risk of shorting out my 2 good boards? thanks.

pole position games SUCK to keep up and running...lol.

Uh, yeah you most certainly run the risk of shorting your 2 good boards.

Just start at the beginning with the schematics, you can download them online. Test each wire as it comes in, starting from the wall plug all the way through the transformer with nothing else plugged in. Then plug in an ar2 board, then the other, then the boardset, etc. testing each wire all thre way through and see where you run into problems at. More than likely of course it's going to be either the transformer block or the a/r boards.

If you've got no voltage at the 10VDC lug on the A/R II boards....that mean no juice is getting to the A/R II boards (or something's seriously shorted). Did you check the bridge? My guess...blown fuse, or shot fuse holder.

Unplug the A/R II boards and check the voltage at the big cap that sets by itself. It should be 10-15VDC.
