picked up another pole position last night. it was working on scene, but when i got it home and powered it up, all i get on the screen is random numbers. what should i even look at to troubleshoot this. it kinda looks like this on the screen (will post picture when i get home if needed):

0 0 0 3
4 0 8 0
0 0 0 0
0 3 8 0
8 0 0 0
0 0 4 0

I had a similar problem with mine. I ended up,

1: I Reseated all of the IC chips, cleaned the pins. And cleaned the edge connectors on the boards with Scotch Brite pad.

Recapped the ARII boards using Bob Roberts Kit.

2: I ran 16ga wire from the ARII boards to the 2 main boards. For the ground and the
5 volts. There are male spade connectos on the boards for test points.

This made a big difference. The edge connector on the Atari games are notorious for loosing ground and 5 volts.

I also removed the edge connector board and plugged the 2 cables directly into the boards.

After running the wire with the soldered on female spade connectors, I have not had a problam with the game.

I also added a 12 volt fan at the far end of the cage by the coin door to blow air across the boards toward the back of the cabinet. I attached the fan to the cage.

Good Luck
