Pole Position II Pedal [Pulley or Microswitch???]

My PPII saga continues....

The gas pedal was non responsive. The big 'ol microswitch [switch??, macroswitch??] has taken a powder. My other machine has the pedal intact, however it is a pulley on some sort of POT. Abyone know which is factory which is mod? Just curious really. I had to rig the pulley cable to work. Somewhere along the line, the cable had been cut or snapped off.

So is the switch and actual switch? Does that mean you can only give full or no throttle? I thought I remembered PP throttle being variable. I could be wrong though.

As shipped from the factory, Pole Position and PP2 had a pulley and cable that turned a 5k pot. Star Tech Journal published a microswitch mod at least ten years ago for these games. If yours has a microswitch then it is modified.

Thanks for the heads up. I just pulled the manual and checked out the exploded view. Turns out, I attached the cable incorrectly...it works though! I will fix it later tonight. Also, I decided to DL the PPII manual from a link on KLOV...the dip switches on PP and PPII are completely different! Looks like I do not have to live with KM/hr after all!

Reading the correct manual helps

So, bumping a 15 year old thread but can't find any information about this mod anywhere. Does anyone know where one could find information about it?
