:( It was working fine for so long....

Just discovered this tonight. Tried pushing down on socketed chips. I'll try pulling them all the way out and reseating tomorrow. Anyone seen this problem before? How'd you fix it?

Check the connector between the two boards also. I had strage graphics issues on a newly repaired board. I unplugged and replugged that bridge, as well as pushed down on all the socketed chips. Fixed.

Turned out to be a leg folded under one of the video roms.
All better now.

then how the heck did it ever work? weired..

im glad you fixed it man..

USUALLY its a mich more involved repair... i speak form firsthand experience lol

Ahh, the joys of owning Pole Position.... The distorted track returned shortly after fixing the bent pin. It comes and goes.

Guess I should take another look at the video board.

Mine was just like yours. I ended up buying another video board and pulled a couple chips off it and swapped them into my existing board and it worked. I forget what chips it was. i just did it by trial and error.

Try reseating the EPROMs @ 2M/2N on the video board and the custom 02XX chip @ 3N. Be particularly careful with the latter since they are no longer available.

This seems to have worked. Been on for an hour and no distorted track. We'll see how long it stays that way.

Yeah, took me a while, but I wanted to make sure to follow this up for anyone looking in the future.
