Hey all, I am once again looking for help with my pole position. I think the power supply is the issue but not sure. the issue started when during game play the screen would go blue and stop. I noticed one of the leads had popped off one of the fuses so I corrected that and then the game would work ok for a few minutes and then go blue again. It also sometimes loads up the game but half the background on the race course is missing. I know this game has power supply issues but I think replacing the original one is a little past my current ability so I was wondering if it is indeed a power supply issue what I need to replace on it to keep the original one working for now. As I gain more knowledge I will put in a switching one but really want to make it work for now. Any help would be great!

I have the original power supply and two AR boards in mine, and it works great. You just have to fork over the money and do the rebuilds, then run the +5v and ground to the test points on both boards. Just go to Bob Robert's site and order the Atari Power Brick rebuild kit, and get an extra big blue. Also get two ARII rebuild kits. It's just a shotgun approach but it works and it's quick. Then once the AR's are rebuilt and in place, check your voltage and using the trim pot on the AR board, adjust it to just over +5 at the PCB. If you do all this and you still have a problem, be happy cause you've removed power as a potential problem.

I know most people here go the switcher route, and I may do that one day, but for now I don't see a problem.
