All,

I have 2 Pole Position video boards that I am working on and hope you guys can help.

The first gets a "RAM 29" error. I replaced the correct RAM chips, but still get the errors. Any ideas?

The second plays, except for black lines through out the display. I have replaced the ROMs from another board and the custom chips, but I have not been able to find the issue. Picture is attached.

I know that the interconnect board can be very touchy...

even showing a ram error when its not.. try cleaning and resetting the interconnect board and edge connector..

those boards can be so touchy that they only want to work with the same board...

Really? the Interconnect works with another board set...

I will try different interconnects... I have about 7 :)

you replaced the ram with new or known working? if so.. I would check the solder on the back of the sockets for that ram..

might be the solder popped off or got a bad solder joint there...

try testing for continuity from each ram leg to a point on the back of the socket, or better yet.. a bit down the board if you can find a test spot...

to make sure the legs are making good contact and good solder on the back of the board....
