So over the winter months I scored a PP that has been converted to a Final Lap III the game was in great shape except someone slaughtered the coin door to put in a push button...

So a couple months ago I found someone who was parting a PP and bought the coin door with harness from them, finally today we are in the mid 60's so I decided to put it in!! First thing I came across was the original door harness had been changed, no big deal, I just switched coin door harnesses...

Now after everything is wired and ready to go I attempt to install the new coin door (which I kept laying in my lap to make wiring easier... IT DOESN'T FIT!! Both coin doors were from the over under style and look the exact same until you try to put it on, the new one's hinge is a little too long, the screw holes don't line up and the door is a little too large...

So my question, were there more than one size door put on these things? if so anyone have a smaller one???

One possibility is that you have a Happ door - the coin reject buttons are they red or yellow? The happs are definitely different (although simliar in size) and I've see a couple versions where they don't quite fit.

However if you have the frame to the new door yet, just change it frame and all. Most people don't undo the hinge from the frame if you don't have to.

Yep yellow buttons sounds like a happ door. Sorry, won't fit the original frame - you need a coin controls door with the red buttons for an exact swap.

If your old door has good hardware (buttons, coin slots, coin return slots, etc) are all in good shape and its just the door itself that you're fixing, you should be able to find a door pretty easy, and if anything just swap all your hardware over to it.

I might have a good door laying around that needs hardware, I can take a look but it probably won't be until next week at this point.
